The General Stores, Mill End, Mitcheldean, GL17 0HP

If you are sat nav-ing, you will probably find The Stenders, which Mill End becomes when it starts to climb the hill out of Mitcheldean, so follow directions for The Stenders – Mill End is a very short stretch of road as the historical name suggests! Mill End is opposite a very sad and derelict pub, between the church and Steve Gooch Estate agent. The General Stores is the old village shop, and is the half timbered property along the left hand side of Mill End. There are large signs on the front and the entrance is via the left hand turning immediately after the property. Please share cars as much as possible, not only for the environment but because sadly our car park is rather tight!

If you are the first guests to arrive please park as far down the car park and as tightly as possible otherwise those guests travelling from further afield or arriving later in the evening may not be able to get in the car park.

NB the main entrance for guests to the house is NOT through either of the doors by the stone steps at the rear of the car park, but through the large wooden gates, past the BBQ, into the courtyard garden and through the sliding doors into the oak and glass room. Arrival details and key code will have been sent out once the damages bond is received into the client holding account.

Friday Arrival is after 5.00pm and usual Sunday departure 12.00 noon.
Earlier or later times can be arranged for £50.00 per hour.   Monday or week day departure is usually by 10.00am. 

NB - there is a cat in residence in the private part of the house to control mouse populations in and out. He is not allowed in nor does he go in guest parts of Mill End.

NB –  the owners reserve the right to change or swap the exact accommodation from that which has been booked, depending on repair, up-keep and decoration necessity – but guests will always be offered the same as or more than they have reserved, not less.

Departure

Monday or week day departure is usually by 10.00am. Sunday departure is 12.00 noon.

Please be prompt with your mid week day departure as we are on a time frame to get bins, recycling and laundry ready for collection on a Monday morning. Many thanks.

By having made the security deposit bond payment you accept the terms that

a) we employ cleaners between guests to turn around and prepare the house for incoming guests – any hours work required over and above that for stripping beds, cleaning, sorting or re-cycling will be deducted from your security deposit at a rate of £25.00 per hour

b) we employ cleaners to get the house ready for incoming guests, NOT to clear up after outgoing guests

c) anything that needs repairing will be charged for at a rate of £25.00 per hour & invoices for materials added

d) expenses incurred due to damage or miss-use over and above the security deposit paid, will be billed for

e) please switch off all lights and close all windows, but please do not pull plug sockets out of walls.

Please remember that the house is self-catering and therefore we expect guests to empty all the bins and strip their own beds and put all sheets, bath-mats and towels in the upper malt house in the spa area. Please also clean kitchen surfaces and load and run dishwashers. Thank you!

It is very rare for us to keep any of the deposit- maybe once a year – but if significant damage, breakage over and above the odd plate or glass which we would expect, loss or noise nuisance occurs, we will retain the necessary monies for repair, replacement or peace offerings to neighbours and will send photographs to support this.
